About Me

I’m Chuck Wolfe, a photographer and writer.

Through my imagery, now centered in the American Southwest, I’m dedicated to improving global conversations about places, varied landscapes, and how communities grow and evolve. I have written three photo-intensive books and numerous articles about understanding places as the intersection of built, sociocultural, and natural environments. I worked as an environmental and land use lawyer for 34 years, a part-time academic (including visiting scholar roles in Sweden and Scotland), and a 2018 Fulbright Specialist in Australia.

Over the years, I have exhibited photos at local coffee shops, in association with book events and auctions, and at public libraries.

My Substack, Resurgence: A Journey, appears at least once a week. Feel free to subscribe below.

After many years in the Pacific Northwest and the United Kingdom, I now live in Tesuque, New Mexico.
