Where better than where the Romans walked, across a West Berkshire field?  In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berkshirehistory.com\/villages\/speen.html\">Speen<\/a>, the \u201cmother of Newbury,\u201d post-Roman history was lost and re-emerged in Saxon times, and, later, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/opendomesday.org\/place\/SU4667\/speen\/\">Domesday Book<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sustainable place goes forward and back, and onward again, building on itself as it meets new worlds.  Amid disruption and turmoil comes <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainingplace.com\/index.php\/2020\/06\/09\/today-in-the-city-survival-means-transition\/\">what will last<\/a>.
